Birthday Treat and Snack Procedure

All birthday treats sent into Whispering Meadows must be store purchased, manufactured, and individually packaged by the manufacturer.  Your child may share these treats with his/her classmates, but these treats will NOT be eaten at school, they will be sent home with students unopened.

Students in a peanut/nut free room may ONLY bring peanut/nut free treats that are store purchased, manufactured, and individually packaged by the manufacturer.

We encourage you to consider a non-edible, school appropriate birthday treat (ie: pencils, stickers, etc) when possible.

If parents send in a snack just for their child, the parent is responsible for insuring the snack is appropriate for their child.  If there is a child with an allergy in that classroom, the snack must adhere to classroom guidelines ex: no peanut products in a peanut free classroom.

If teachers ask parents to provide a snack or party or project items for the classroom, the teacher is responsible for checking to insure that the items meet requirements for children with allergies in that classroom.  This is also true for a grade level activity or celebration.
