ALPHA Testing for Students Who Are Not Enrolled in a SACS School

CogAT Test Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026
                                Time:  4:00 – 7:00 pm
                 Test Location:  Aboite Elementary (5004 Homestead Road)
                                  Fee:  $50.00 per student (checks payable to Southwest Allen County Schools)  

SACS RESIDENTS:  If you have a K - 4 student who resides within the Southwest Allen County school district but is not currently enrolled in a SACS school and are interested in potential placement in the SACS Self-Contained High Ability ALPHA Program, you will need to register with the testing fee and submit proof of residency.

Notification of test results, placement letters and permission forms to accept ALPHA services will be sent to families in early February.

OUT OF DISTRICT RESIDENTS:  If you have a K - 1 student who does not reside within the Southwest Allen County school district and are interested in potential placement in the SACS Self-Contained High Ability ALPHA Program, you will need to register with the testing fee. Please note that students who qualify would be subject to the Non-Resident Transfer Policy (Board Policy 4040) and placement is not guaranteed.

OUT OF DISTRICT - Application to Test for the High Ability Alpha Program

Notification of test results will be sent to families in early February.  Placement letters and permission forms to accept ALPHA  services will be sent in April.

Application, Fee, and Proof of Residency (if applicable) are due by noon on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.  Please drop off at our Central Office located at 4824 Homestead Road between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
